Nestled in the heart of the village of Brentwood Bay is a veritable jewel, The Gallery. Home to the work of over one hundred artists, musicians and authors. This is a non-profit gallery run entirely by volunteers. The Gallery is a "one stop shop" for local artists to have a venue to sell their art. Artists range from the talented young students to well known artists such as Harry and Caren Heine, Dorothy Oxborough,Brenda Grant, Clement Kwan, Effie Cunningham, Marilyn Murray, Barbara Tessman/Callow, Margietta Ben Oliel, Stan Hodgson and many more.. There is a variety of pottery in the traditional style of Audrey Wallis or the funky fun style of Angela Montanti. Metal sculptures by Lynn Laughren are a must see. Each artist in the Gallery has his or her own unique style offering something for everyone's tastes. If you want to know what is happening locally just drop by The Gallery and the helpful volunteers can fill you in on the latest art shows, music events and any other information you may need about where to go and what to see on the Peninsula. The idea & concept of The Gallery was by local artist, Susan Mason in the fall of 2003 & has been a popular place to shop for art in Brentwood Bay, every since GALLERY PICTURES |
